Chris Jericho signed with All Elite Wrestling and he is now making the most money he’s ever made in his entire career. He is also allowed to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling and do his Rock n Wrestling Ragers at Sea. However, the contract details of his AEW contract recently got released to the WWE locker room and things got very interesting.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that once word got around about how much Y2J is pulling in with AEW, people had different reactions depending on who they are. The one universal trend is that everyone had a reaction of some kind.
“So in one of the things that happened I was actually told this a few days ago is that Jericho’s contract number went around the WWE locker room, yeah and a lot of people were stunned, freaked depending on your viewpoint.”
“That led to, again… when that number got out.. let me think about this. It’s not a John Cena number, it’s not a Brock Lesnar, it’s not a Ronda Rousey number… maybe it is, I don’t know. Something out there is real.”
We will have to wait and see what happens next. Chris Jericho is a very influential man and has some great friends in the business. So the information in his contract might actually be enough to pry even more names loose from WWE once their contracts come up again.
