Daniel Bryan will not be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel event.
PWInsider reports that sources have confirmed that he will not be at Friday’s show. WWE has yet to pull him from the show but sources confirmed earlier that Bryan has made it clear that he was against working the show and would not be traveling to the event.
WWE began working on alternative plans last week. One plan that WWE had in mind was not to send AJ Styles to Saudi Arabia and instead Bryan would face off against Stules inside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with the match airing as part of the Crown Jewel broadcast. This idea was eventually nixed.
Bryan is advertised to face off with Styles on tonight’s SmackDown tapings, so the company has several choices in front of them. WWE could possibly do an angle where Bryan is pulled from the match and have Styles face someone else instead. Another possible plan is they could tape the match tonight and insert it into the Crown Jewel broadcast.
It remains to be seen what WWE actually goes with but we will keep you updated if we receive any additional details.
