The entire Austin Aries story could be a huge mess behind the scenes. You can read here to get all the latest on that situation. But it looks like Impact’s official website shows something even more interesting.
While it’s likely just an instance of not updating the website, Impact Wrestling’s current page shows no Impact World Champion. This is not only interesting because Johnny Impact won the title at Bound For Glory from Aries, but it can’t really be an argument of the site not being updated since BFG because there’s simply no champion listed.
For what it’s worth, Abyss also doesn’t have his place in the Impact Wrestling Hall Of Fame either. But it’s still a rather interesting happenstance that Aries might get pulled before his title was even dropped and nobody has placed Impact in the slot as champion so it remains totally void of a top champion in Impact Wrestling.
As you can see, Aries is still listed as an active star on the Impact roster too so it’s not like he doesn’t appear on the list either. They just took him off as champion and apparently neglected to put Johnny Impact/Mundo/Morrison/Hennigan/Boone/Nitro/Etc in his rightful place.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
