Which Brand Rey Mysterio Will Be On After WWE Return

Rey Mysterio is headed back to WWE and it looks like he’ll be showing up on SmackDown 1000 as his first match back with the company on an official level. Now it looks like it could only be a matter of time until we see Mysterio on a much more regular basis.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Mysterio’s first match will indeed by on the SmackDown side, but it’s not a lock regarding which side Mysterio will actually be on once he starts back with the company full-time.
It will be interesting to see who Mysterio is able to feud with as there are many great opportunities in the WWE roster right now, especially considering the people in NXT who they could call up like Ricochet who was able to tear down The Temple with Mysterio on Lucha Underground.
But if the plans are still the way they were when we exclusively reported it, Mysterio will soon be locking up with Shinsuke Nakamura and that match could possibly take place at Crown Jewel.
