Some people forgot MJF competed at all in and lost to Matt Cross in the opening match of the event. The match had little build-up but it was a great contest. MJF is currently locked into an MLW deal so he can’t come to WWE but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted last year that WWE certainly had their eye on him.
MJF competed against Brody King at the MLW: War Games show on Saturday night and Mike Johnson noted on PW Insider Elite audio that Maxwell J Friedman is going to be a big star in WWE.

“MJF, that dude is going to be great. He is going to be a top star of WWE. His promos are incredible, his timing is impeccable. He plays an incredibly obnoxious cocky piece of sh*t heel and he can mesh comedy and serious wrestling in a way that very few people are ever able to do without ruining their own credibility.”

Only time will tell when WWE will be able to make their offer to MJF, but it seems like he is on the right track to not only staying on WWE’s radar but also keeping up his skills for when the time comes.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
