Legendary wrestler Terry Funk is currently suffering from health issues. These issues have prevented the icon from appearing as planned at All In and Starrcast this weekend.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Funk confirmed he has a problem with his abdominal hernia. As such, he isn’t feeling well at all. At 74-years-old, Funk is still recognized for his decades of effort and prominence in the industry. He had the following comment to make in regards to his health issues:

“I was supposed to be on the All In show, but I can’t because of a problem with my abdominal hernia. I’m not feeling too good. Am I going to feel better? I hope to hell I am. That’s a wish on my part.”

In addition to talking about his current problems, Funk praised Cody [Rhodes] for all the work he and The Young Bucks have done to create All In and subsequently- the creation of Starrcast with help from Conrad Thompson- who is set to marry the daughter of Ric Flair.

Funk was close with Cody’s father Dusty Rhodes. They were friends for over three decades before Rhodes sadly passed away a few years back. Funk took the time to comment in detail about what he thinks about Cody, given the legacy of “The American Dream” is a huge part of who he is.

“I think it’s wonderful that Cody is having success, and I was really looking forward to seeing him. Cody and Dusty are similar in so many ways, but they’re different also. I’ve never met anyone like Dusty. He was loved by everyone and everybody. He was a phenomenal in-ring performer who understood the business, and that was passed on to Cody.

“Personally, I like to think I’m like my old man. I like to think I have the brains he did. I’d like to think Cody feels the same way, and he should because he does. Cody has evolved, he saw the light where no one else did.”

Ringside News will update you on the condition of Funk if anything of note is revealed. For now, we wish him the best of luck in his recovery.
