WWE Could Have Some Big Plans For Matt Riddle

Since Aleister Black is injured which could screw up the main event at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, this puts WWE in an interesting problem. It looks like their triple threat match for the NXT Title could be without a third man.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that  “somebody suggested” to put Riddle into the match and have him win the NXT Title to create an instant Superstar when he wins. He didn’t say who suggested this to him but said this would be the way he’d book things.

Only time will tell what NXT’s story will do since they might have had plans already in mind for Tommaso Ciampa as NXT Champion. But it’s an interesting note to think about.

He said people will probably already be chanting for Riddle and might figure it out if they book a triple threat match with a mystery man, but it would still be a great way to see Riddle’s debut play out.
