Ricochet has been in WWE for a very short time but he brought a huge fanbase with him. Although he hasn’t done much in NXT yet, his first few big matches have caught everyone’s eye.

His first TakeOver match was in a 6-man ladder match followed by a victory over Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II. Each time he was able to really impress people and add to his highlight reel.

Sometimes we over-hype people but Ricochet might not be the case. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he heard that Ricochet’s name has helped boost ticket sales for NXT house shows.

Although he’s not the champion and considered the third top babyface (at best), he might have a lot more drawing power than first thought. Only time will tell if NXT can do something with this popularity, but Ricochet’s match against EC3 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn might be a great chance for him to move up the food chain.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
