Undefeated UFC Featherweight contender Brian ‘T-City’ Ortega spoke with AXS TV at the LFA 45 event and revealed that he had in fact been compensated by the UFC for showing up at UFC 226 and is hoping for Max Holloway to heal up so that they can run that fight back.

Initially, Ortega had publicly aired his grievance that Dana White and him couldn’t come to terms over a compensation package after he had put together a fight camp, made the weight and showed up at UFC 226, only for Featherweight king Max Holloway to pull out of the fight just three days before it was scheduled to take place.

White and the UFC wanted Ortega to step up and fight a late replacement in either Jeremy Stephens or Frankie Edgar, and even offered to sweeten the deal by throwing in an interim Title.

However, Ortega doubled down on his stance that he would only fight for the real belt and eventually was pulled off the card without any compensation either.
