James Ellsworth returned to WWE during Money In The Bank to help Carmella defeat Asuka. He had a role in Extreme Rules as well where he hung from a shark cage like what he referred to as a “sexy pinata.”

The Wrestling Observer┬áNewsletter noted that WWE hasn’t signed Ellsworth to a long-term contract. This is helping his indie bookings a lot because he’s a rare guy used on WWE who can work indie shows.

But he’s only booked for TV and PPVs with no house show appearances. Since WWE didn’t sign him to a long-term contract, it was noted WWE has no plans on keeping him around for a long-term storyline. However, you never know when that could change.

Let’s hope it changes because Ellsworth has been really good on this run and you can tell he’s trying really hard to make his second chance with WWE count.
