James Ellsworth returned to WWE during Money In The Bank to help Carmella defeat Asuka. He had a role in Extreme Rules as well where he hung from a shark cage like what he referred to as a “sexy pinata.”

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE hasn’t signed Ellsworth to a long-term contract. This is helping his indie bookings a lot because he’s a rare guy used on WWE who can work indie shows.

But he’s only booked for TV and PPVs with no house show appearances. Since WWE didn’t sign him to a long-term contract, it was noted WWE has no plans on keeping him around for a long-term storyline. However, you never know when that could change.

Let’s hope it changes because Ellsworth has been really good on this run and you can tell he’s trying really hard to make his second chance with WWE count.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
