Was Kenny Omega Ever In Negotiations with WWE?

During the latest installment of PWInsider’s Mailbag, Mike Johnson discussed Kenny Omega’s contract situation and revealed that no one within WWE was ever talking to the New Japan Star about possibly coming to the company when his contract was running up with NJPW last year.

“He’s under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling until January 2019. So, he has not spoke to anyone about going anywhere. He never looked and I don’t believe he ever had any conversations with WWE last year no matter what anyone says. There were no rumblings within WWE that they were talking to him.”

For those that don’t remember, there was a point early last year where Omega’s contract was running up and his future with New Japan Pro Wrestling was in question. Several stories surfaced online that he had been talking about possibly going to WWE. Even John Cena teased the idea of Omega coming to the company by posting photos of him on his Instagram account.
