Chris Jericho invaded NJPW Dominion with one purpose in mind to become the IWGP Intercontinental Champion. Jericho surprised a lot of people when he decided to come back to New Japan especially after saying he was done with the company. So at New Japan’s Dominion show, Tetsuya Naito and Y2J took each other to the limit in a big way.

It looks like Chris Jericho will have plenty more chances to curse up a storm in New Japan because he fulfilled his promise and defeated Naito with a Codebreaker to shock the world once more.

This is Chris Jericho’s 10th Intercontinental Championship with the first 9 being under WWE’s banner. Therefore, it appears New Japan and Chris Jericho’s relationship isn’t over by any means yet. But with Jericho’s busy schedule only time will tell when he will be able to find the time to defend his newly won title.

You can check out the highlights from the match below to get an idea of how intense this one got. Jericho is a pretty hated heel in New Japan Pro Wrestling so this title win is probably going to be plenty controversial but that’s how Jericho likes things.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
