Plenty of fans were excited when Lio Rush signed a WWE contract last year but then after Tenille Dashwood was released his tweet saying she wasn’t ready for Asuka upset plenty of people and left some fans irate. It also apparently caused him some backstage heat but he was never released.

Instead, Lio Rush kept working NXT house shows and honing his craft in the WWE Performance Center. This week 205 Live aired a promo hyping Rush’s imminent debut for the brand meaning his cocky heel persona would soon be appearing on Tuesday nights.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the plan to bring Lio Rush to 205 Live was talked about since he signed with the company in August. Therefore it was never the plan for Rush to stick around in NXT for very long.

It might only be a matter of time before Lio Rush is on 205 Live and getting a big highlight on him as a heel which is something the Cruiserweight Division needs at this point especially with a babyface champion who seems to be running out of opponents.

Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
