Some fans are wondering if Brock Lesnar will ever drop the Universal Title. After all, even though he’s supposedly returning to UFC he has yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool which means he is still six months away from a fight whenever he actually goes back into the testing eligibility.

With Brock’s new short-term WWE contract a lot of people are speculating he could essentially hold the title for as long as WWE keeps paying him to show up. But others have an idea that WWE is just biding their time to take the title off of Brock Lesnar so he can break CM Punk’s record of when he held the WWE Championship for 434 days.

It was noted on Wrestling Observer Live that in order for Lesnar to break Punk’s record he will need to hold the Universal Title through Money In The Bank. He could lose it on the Raw after MITB, but in order to break Punk’s record, he will need to keep his Universal Championship until at least June 19th, 2018. The only question is if he will stick around that long but it’s likely if WWE cares enough to topple CM Punk’s record in the process.
