It looks like WWE may not be bringing back the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal this year.

While discussing this year’s WrestleMania 34 event on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said that he’s been told that they may not be bringing back the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at this year’s event. Instead, the company may be featuring a Women’s Battle Royal.

Alvarez didn’t elaborate exactly why the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal wouldn’t be returning but we will keep you updated if we receive more information on the topic.

Update: Before the show even concluded, a caller asked Alvarez once again about the company dropping the match and revealed that the Battle Royal could be a “Mae Young” or “Fabulous Moolah” Memorial Battle Royal instead.
