205 Live kicks off and Nigel McGuiness has joined the commentary team, in place of Corey Graves. We get a recap of last week’s reveal of TJP’s fake injury during Ariya Daivari’s match with Rich Swann takes us into Perkins’ first match in a while. His opponent gets an inset promo, where Daivari promises to inflict pain on TJ until he really needs crutches. Rich Swann is out with popcorn to watch, and sets up a folding chair on the announce desk to get a good view.

TJP Vs. Ariya Daivari

They trade strikes right away, they have some miscommunication in the ropes as TJP hits a sloppy slingshot dropkick, and covers for a two count. Bad start to this. Daivari attacks the knee and hits a draping reverse DDT that earns him a two count.

.@megatjp‘s injured knee seems to be healing nicely as he takes it to @AriyaDaivariWWE on #205Live, LIVE NOW on @WWENetwork! @GottaGetSwann pic.twitter.com/UXLjJsY03u

Daivari follows-up with a back breaker for a near-fall. Daivari tries to ground the action, but TJP escapes and follow with a springboard forearm and kicks. Rolling suplexes follow, and TJP covers for 2. Daivari hits a high knee, covering for 2. He lays the boots to TJP, sending him to the floor. Back in and Daivari up top, and he misses the frog splash. TJP hits the detonation kick for the quick win!

Winner: TJP

Swann gets in the ring and tells TJP they should have a one-on-one rubber match in their “friendly rivalry” next week. He dabs on Perkins on his way out.

We see highlights of Brian Kendrick defeating Jack Gallagher in a no DQ match last week on 205 Live. Drew Gulak is walking backstage handing out fliers for his “better 205 Live” on his way to the ring.

His name is @DrewGulak, and he has some ideas (in the form of a PowerPoint presentation) on how to make this a better #205Live… pic.twitter.com/xmdqgK6oF9

— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) September 6, 2017

Gulak is in the ring to speak. He wants to spread his message, so he did something exciting – he made a powerpoint! Sadly, he only makes it through two slides (1 – no jumping off the top rope, 2 – no jumping off the middle rope) when his opponent’s entrance music cuts him off…

Drew Gulak Vs. Akira Tozawa

They lock up, and Gulak quickly grounds Tozawa with a side headlock. Tozawa to his feet, he picks up the pace and hits a dropkick. Gulak backs off but then eats another dropkick. Tozawa hits a backdrop, kick and Gulak crawls to the apron. Tozawa kicks him to the floor.

Gulak then pulls Tozawa off the apron and into the barricade. Back in they go, and Gulak again grounds the action. Tozawa makes the ropes, but Gulak fires away with chops and works over Tozawa in the corner. He lays the boots to him, Tozawa fires back, but Gulak grounds him and works the arm, trying to force Tozawa to submit.

Tozawa fights out to his feet, lays in a big right and hits a big hurricanrana. He knocks Gulak to the floor and hits his bullet suicide dive. Back in and Tozawa covers for 2. Tozawa hits the Saito suplex, covering for 2. Tozawa up top now, but jumps over Gulak and hits the spin kick. Tozawa back up top, and the big senton puts Gulak away.

Winner: Akira Tozawa

Enzo is interviewed backstage. He’s 3-0 in cruiserweight action, and says he has the gift of gab. He hasn’t traveled the world or worked the indies, but they are all in the same place, he works smarter and not harder. He calls Metalik “Nacho Libre.” Neville arrives and says Enzo is as ridiculous as he looks. 205 Live is a place for serious athletes, and that isn’t Enzo. Neville says he has no business being here. Enzo says he will win the title at No Mercy.

It’s #Fatal5Way time, and what percent chance does @real1 think he has of walking out victorious? ?#205Live pic.twitter.com/VNq3BBu9NI

All five competitors make their way to the ring for this huge match, and you can bet Neville will be watching.

Number One Contendership Match
Tony Nese Vs. Cedric Alexander Vs. Gran Metalik Vs. The Brian Kendrick Vs. Enzo Amore

This match is elimination rules! Enzo bails to the floor immediately as all other competitors looked to gang up on him. Alexander and Metalik work together early, and then lock up and work back and forth. Fun stuff from these two, Alexander counters out of a RANA, but Metalik hits a missile dropkick. Nese pulls Metalik to the floor, and Enzo pulls Kendrick to the floor. Nese and Alexander work back and forth, trading strikes. Alexander hits a dropkick and covers for a two count.

Enzo walks around on the floor as Alexander works over Nese with chops. We see Neville watching on from backstage. Nese cuts off Alexander and hits a gut buster, sending him to the floor. Enzo sneaks in and rolls up Nese for 2. Kendrick attacks Enzo, rolling him back in and Nese covers for 2. Nese works him over as the others braw on the floor. Kendrick in and he starts to help Nese beat down Enzo, looking for pins. Nese and Kendrick double team Enzo, but Enzo mounts a comeback. He lays the boots to Nese, and then gets sent to the floor.

THIS. JUST. HAPPENED! #205Live@WWEGranMetalik @CedricAlexander @TonyNese @mrbriankendrick pic.twitter.com/oJwGh5FNZx

— WWE (@WWE) September 6, 2017

Metalik and Alexander back in, Alexander hits the Spanish fly and we get a double down. Everyone is down. Alexander heads to the ropes; climbs up top and Nese cuts him off. Kendrick and Metalik join in and we get a Tower of Doom! Everyone rolls to the floor, Enzo looks for a suicide dive but is caught. Nese and Kendrick work him over with double teams and then toss him over the commentary table into the barricade. Kendrick tricks Nese into working with him, and then attacks him. Metalik hits a big dive onto Kendrick, but Nese takes him out. He rolls him back in, but Alexander hits the lumbar check to eliminate Nese! Tony Nese Eliminated.

Alexander hits the back handspring kick, followed by a Lumbar Check on Metalik and that’s the end of his night. Gran Metalik Eliminated. Kendrick back in, hits Alexander with sliced bread for a good near fall. Kendrick locks in the captain’s hook, Alexander eventually fights and escapes. Kendrick locks in the captain’s hook again, but Alexander fights and makes the ropes. They roll to the floor, Alexander slams Kendrick to the apron and hits a Lumbar Check and Kendrick is done. Brian Kendrick Eliminated. And we’re down to two! Enzo returns to the match and rolls-up Cedric with the tights for the cheap win.

HAT TRICK COMPELTE for @CedricAlexander as he eliminates THREE opponents with the #LumbarCheck! #205Live pic.twitter.com/BAFEcW0Khs

— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) September 6, 2017

Winner: Enzo Amore

What a match for Cedric Alexander and somehow Enzo walks out the winner. That was not a smart way to make fans like Enzo.

Enzo retreats up the ramp after his win, while Alexander looks fuming in the ring. Enzo Amore will be facing Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship at No Mercy.

That’s it for this week’s 205 Live. Let us know what you thought and I will see you back here next Monday night for more Raw! Until then, safe travels!
