WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 31st 2017

Welcome to Monday Night Raw for the final time in July!

Tonight’s show is guaranteed to be a big one because our main event is quite literally huge! Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe face-off in a Triple Threat match, a mere three weeks before their Universal Championship match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam! This match is without doubt going to be a train-wreck, in a good way, and I for one cannot wait to see the carnage that’s left in their wake. Not to mention, Lesnar himself is scheduled for the show tonight!

Last week’s Raw ended with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose tagging for the first time in years, and in doing-so they defeated the entire Miztourage! The duo fell right back into the rhythm they had with The Shield but after the match Ambrose wouldn’t place his fist beside Seth’s in the middle of the ring. The fans wanted it to happen and Ambrose is coming across as a little a-holey but it’s rare that WWE has this level of storyline continuity and they’re right to have Ambrose not trust Seth. That the duo aren’t just best buds again is more interesting and exciting to watch because it can grow and when Dean finally does meet his fist, the crowd should explode. Personally, I think they should build it for a while and then have Dean turn on Seth and become the heel. Thoughts?

Let’s stay on the tag division for now, because Sheamus and Cesaro do not have opponents for SummerSlam! The Hardy Boyz, The Revival, and Anderson & Gallows, seem locked in a three-way feud to prove who is the rightful contenders. I don’t see this feud ending soon, I think we’ll get all three teams facing-off at SummerSlam, but that still leaves Sheamus and Cesaro with no opponents. Except for Seth and Dean. Given that they just won a 3-on-2 handicap match, Seth and Dean could very quickly find themselves on the totem pole for a tag title shot!

Finn Balor is also locked in a feud with more than one person. For weeks now, Finn and Elias Samson (now simply known as Elias), have been brawling in arena’s throughout the U.S. However, Bray Wyatt has also been lurking in the background and targeting Finn Balor for Bray’s usual random reasons. I expect Finn and Bray to meet at SummerSlam but I’m not sure if Elias finds himself in the match, or if he’s just a distraction for Finn. It seems that the powers that be really like Elias because he scored the win over Finn last week, even if it was because of Bray.

Also on tonight’s show, the story of Jason Jordan continues! For the last two weeks now, Jordan has been the focal point of Raw and tonight looks to continue that trend. The youngster will appear on Miz TV tonight, which allegedly will lead to him getting an Intercontinental Championship shot at SummerSlam. This sounds about right but I don’t think he should win the strap at the big event. Right now the fans are teetering on the edge of hating Jordan for all his screen time, so giving him a title right away is a bad idea but also so very typical of WWE. The fans would probably like him a lot more if he gets embroiled in this feud with Miz and cheated out of wins by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.

That’s the preview for tonight’s show, let us know what you’re excited to see on our free Ringside Talk app! Also, we have the Ringside News app, where you can read these results as well as all our other content for free! Tonight’s Raw emanates from Pittsburgh, PA, enjoy the show!
