Welcome to Monday Night Raw as we steamroll our way into SummerSlam!
On last week’s Raw, Kurt Angle finally revealed his big secret: Jason Jordan is his illegitimate son! There was a ton of speculation surrounding Angle’s big reveal but few saw that coming. There were rumours that Chad Gable, Jordan’s partner in American Alpha would be his son because of their Olympic backgrounds and similar wrestling style, however WWE threw a curve-ball and gave us Jason Jordan. I personally enjoyed the segment and thought Angle sold it incredibly well with his crying and I’m excited to see what happens with the duo moving forward.
Tonight’s Raw will see a mini Shield reunion as Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins team to face The Miztourage. Of course, this feels a little incomplete because Roman isn’t involved and even then, I feel like a proper Shield reunion should be saved for a much bigger threat than The Miz. Regardless, the match tonight should be fun but unlikely to have a definitive finish ahead of a probably showdown at SummerSlam!
We have a huge women’s match tonight between the two best friends, Sasha Banks and Bayley! The winner of this match will go on to face Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam. Both these women have had run-in’s with Bliss since WrestleMania but Bayley seems an unlikely winner considering she never even came close to beating Alexa. It seems like Bliss and Banks have unfinished business, so I would expect Sasha to win and continue the “evolution” of Bayley’s character.
