As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Matt Hardy defended Sheamus for the opportunity to pick the stipulation in their upcoming tag team title defense at the Extreme Rules event. It was revealed after the match that the teams would battle inside of a steel cage.
While many where hoping that we would see The Hardys face off against Sheamus & Cesaro in a ladder match or TLC match, that wasn’t the plan. Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the company decided on a steel cage match because they just had a ladder match at the NXT Takeover: Chicago event over the weekend and felt it was too soon announce another.
