Jacy Jayne is still the NXT Women’s Champion, but she will have to defend her title at Stand & Deliver. The big issue is that nobody knew who her opponent would be until tonight.

The March 31 episode of NXT went down in NYC, and they had a big #1 contender match in store for fans. Kendal Grey and Lola Vice threw down in a match to determine who would face Jacy Jayne next.

Prio to the main event match, Jacy Jayne had a segment backstage with Fatal Influence. Then Izzi Dame popped up in the back of the room to state that she’s always plotting.

This match got the main event treatment of the night, and they kicked it off with about fifteen minutes to go in the show. The CW has a hard cut-off time for local news, and Shawn Michaels knows how to cut things close with his show.

The match got going in fast fashion as Lola and Kendal showed off their MMA and amateur backgrounds to take things to the mat early on. Lola had the early advantage, but Kendal Grey was able to fight back.

The show went through another commercial break as the two fought with ten minutes left in the match. Then again, The CW is also filled with commercial breaks during NXT. During the break, Lola Vice kept Kendal Grey down on the mat, and then they took each other out with a double clothesline as the show came back to full-screen.

Eventually, Jacy Jayne and her stable joined the match at ringside. Kendal Grey climbed to the top rope, but Lola Vice nailed her with a kick as she dove off. Fatal Influence kept watching very closely while standing at ringside. Then Kendal got another near fall after a stiff forearm shot. Then Grey got an ankle lock on Lola, which almost made her tap out until Lola reversed it into a pinfall attempt. Lola got a submission on next, and Grey fought out of the sleeper and body scissors hold.

Wren Sinclair cheered for Kendal Grey at ringside as Lola wrenched at Kendal’s neck. Then Grey got a bridging suplex to get the pinfall and win the match. Then a referee ran in to reveal that Kendal tapped out as she got the pinfall. Fans chanted “you tapped out” as the show went off the air, and everything was chaos.

Then Shawn Michaels showed up and got in the ring. MSG is a special place for HBK, and he got some major chants for it. The show ended without any announcement and there was simply massive confusion over who will face Jacy Jayne for her title this Saturday.

NXT Stand & Deliver will go down in St Louis’ The Factory this Saturday. We will have full coverage here on Ringside News. It should be a very fun show as NXT’s biggest event of the year.
