Former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle made her exit from WWE after the 2009 Supplemental Draft. Her release from the company occurred on June 19, 2009. Almost a decade later, it appears she could be eyeing a return to compete for her former employer.
Earlier this morning, Michelle took to her Instagram to showcase a video of her preparing to go work out. She notes that she is wearing her wrestling boots because she forgot her sneakers and will make no excuses as she prepares to hold an upcoming TED Talk that is important to her.
The video is extremely interesting, as her last appearance inside a WWE ring was during her departure from RAW to SmackDown on April 15, 2009. Additionally, the former Champion tagged WWE in her post and added: “once a wrestler, always a wrestler!”
Back on December 2, 2017, Michelle had her retirement match at the House of Hardcore 36- Blizzard Brawl show, where she defeated Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria, Tara) in singles competition.
The post by Michelle could be an attempt at sparking interest given her upcoming TED Talk and the ongoing discussion around the Evolution PPV which is set to take place in Uniondale, New York.
It is unknown if Michelle would be willing to come out of retirement or this is simply a way to playfully tease with her fans, but it shall be interesting to see whether she finds herself on the card, as we recently reported a card making the rounds on social media had been proven fake.
In the comments to her post on Instagram and on social media, a number of users have started to comment on the possibility of a return for the Champion, but only time will tell if Michelle steps back inside the squared circle.
