Samoa Joe had a great run as the AEW World Champion in the past few months. The former WWE superstar had a dominant reign as the champion and is considered one of the biggest stars on the Tony Khan-led company’s roster. However, since his loss to Swerve Strickland at AEW Dynasty, the star has moved away from the title picture.

Joe lost his World title at AEW Dynasty 2024. Since then he hasn’t been involved in a big rivalry. He has been a part of a couple of matches since then, but a feud for the former World Champion us yet to be seen.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open, Joe reflected on his reign as the World Champion. The former WWE star also said that he was willing to get back in that spot once again.

“I mean, obviously it’s always a tremendous honor whenever you’re carrying the Heavyweight Championship or the World Championship, and I took it as such (Joe said about being AEW World Champion). Any time that I’ve been given the opportunity to step into that role, I try to go out there and give it our best shot and get people to tune in and see what we’re doing so, yeah, that’s about as much as I can say about it. It was a good time and I look forward to getting back there sooner than later.”

Considering the fame Joe has attained from the World title run in AEW, him getting back into that number one spot doesn’t seem to be far away. The former WWE superstar is currently getting involved in the Chris Jericho – Hook storyline. The star winning a couple of mid-card titles before getting back into the World title scene won’t be a surprise as well.
