The Absolute Ricky Starks has been a pivotal figure in AEW since his arrival in 2020. However, he has been noticeably absent from AEW’s television programming since late March despite being a cornerstone for the Jacksonville-based promotion for a long time.

In his last appearance on television during the March 30 episode of AEW Collision, Ricky Starks appeared to have gotten injured during a tag team title tournament match where he and his partner, Big Bill competed against Top Flight.

Moreover, the former AEW World tag team champion discussed his future in the promotion, expressing uncertainty about his participation in this year’s grand spectacle, All-In taking place in London in August, and admitted that he has no knowledge of AEW’s plans for him.

On the other hand, in an interview with SHAK Wrestling, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan addressed Starks’ status in the company. Khan stated his desire to bring Ricky Starks back to television.

“I think Ricky Starks is tremendous. I’d love to get him involved and back in AEW anytime. He’s been a huge part of what we’ve done here for about four out of the five years, and tons of respect for Rico.“

Despite Tony Khan wanting to bring Ricky Starks back into the fold, he has voiced his frustration regarding his lack of presence on AEW television. However, with Khan’s recent statement, it remains to be seen if that could influence his return timeline.
