Carmelo Hayes finished up his time in NXT after losing to Trick Williams and was called up to SmackDown on the opening night of the 2024 WWE Draft. Apart from his debut there, he hasn’t done all that much yet, but he did suffer an unfortunate botch on SmackDown this week and has now addressed the same.
During the May 31 edition of SmackDown, LA Knight expressed his desire to capture Logan Paul’s WWE United States Championship. Knight emphasized that winning the title would elevate him to the next level and help him fully embody his moniker.
During a backstage segment, Carmelo Hayes confronted LA Knight and wondered why Logan Paul should face someone like Knight when Hayes was there. However, he accidentally named LA Knight instead of Paul.
”Why would LA wanna face you when a first round draft pick is standing right here?”
Carmelo Hayes took to Twitter and addressed the botch by making it clear he couldn’t care less about it and mocked people who tried to make a big deal about the botch.
”Oops I got a name mixed up on Live Tv. Maybe I should “Go bACk To nXT” 🤡”
We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight’s feud in the coming weeks, as we approach at the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event on June 15th.
