AEW’s latest edition of Dynamite in Bakersfield served as the go-home show for the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas this weekend. The show will be headlined by one of the main events featuring Swerve Strickland defending the AEW World Title against Christian Cage.

During the show, Strickland faced his Patriachy member, Nick Wayne in a match that saw Strickland emerge victorious. Following the match, Killswitch attacked Strickland but he managed to fend him off and toss him out of the ring.

Unfortunately, Killswitch’s leg became entangled in the ropes, causing concern among fans as he clutched his leg in pain upon landing. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez provided an update on Killswitch’s condition and reassured fans that he is fine despite the alarming incident upon being asked by his co-host.

“We had Swerve and Nick Wayne, and they had a solid match. Swerve executed a big back suplex and began his comeback. Nick attempted the House Call, which he had successfully hit last week, but Swerve countered with a backbreaker power slam, expressed his apologies, delivered the House Call, and secured the pinfall. It was a good TV match, and Swerve is set for a great pay-per-view match. The post-match angle with Killswitch was particularly intense. Killswitch climbed the top rope and after receiving a low blow, was thrown over. His leg got caught between the top and middle ropes in an unexpected twist. His leg twisted unnaturally, and he fell, clutching his knee.”

“I was genuinely worried, but he’s actually fine. It looked much worse than it was. He ended up on the ground, and the situation unfolded from there.”

As we saw, Christian Cage attempted to evade Swerve’s wrath with his car theft shenanigans only for Strickland’s manager, Prince Nana to block his way and the champion to get his hands on the challenger.

With tensions running high between Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage, it will be an interesting showdown at AEW Double or Nothing with the AEW World Championship hanging in the balance.
