Damian Priest won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when Priest capitalized on Drew McIntyre with cash-in. With that said, Damian Priest has been urged to leave The Judgment Day.

Priest defended his title against Jey Uso at Backlash last week in France. Despite coming close to losing, he retained his championship with the help of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh’s interference. However, Priest wasn’t happy with their involvement in his match.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette was asked if Damian Priest should turn babyface. He suggested that Priest should stay a heel and distance himself from The Judgment Day, focusing instead on a solo run as a top heel champion.

Cornette explained that he would prefer if Priest had more heel heat, especially since Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio are not around. He proposed letting Finn Balor and JD McDonagh continue their own storyline, while Priest builds himself up as a strong solo heel champion.

“No, actually I hope they would have been putting more heel heat on him a little bit instead of having him still play with the children since Rhea’s gone and Dominik is gone. Why not let Finn and JD [McDonagh] do whatever they need to do and let Damian Priest be a single top heel champion before we go turning him? Because the problem is the more over you are as a heel, the more over you are when you become a babyface or vice versa.”

We will have to wait and see how Damian Priest will continue to be booked as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, as a solo run as the champion might just be what he needs right now.
