Big E, one of WWE’s most beloved superstars, has been on a hiatus from in-ring action due to a severe neck injury. While he’s been away from the wrestling world, Big E admitted that he believes WWE wouldn’t have hired him during the current era.

Big E has been sidelined since the March 11, 2022 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he sustained broken neck. During his absence from the ring, Big E has remained active with numerous appearances on various shows.

While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Big E spoke positively about the talent within the company today. He reminisced about his early days in Florida Championship Wrestling, mentioning that if he had entered the sports entertainment industry the way he did back then, he wouldn’t be hired under the current standards.

“The leap from FCW to what the tryout looks like now, it’s just massive. It’s infinite, the jump. My tryout was in front of a couple dozen people in this empty warehouse. But now, these young men and women are getting opportunities at WrestleMania. The people that actually got contracts are getting chances to be there in LA for WrestleMania, before the seats fill up, to get to talk to John Cena, it’s really so much more massive than it used to be.”

“I often say that the way things are right now, coming in as I did, I did not win any accolades, I had a bunch of injuries, I wouldn’t get hired under this current system. That’s how stringent everything is.”

It is to be noted that  Big E recently shared that he may never wrestle again after his neck injury. He would then share some good news by revealing his new relationship with Michin’s sister. Nonetheless, Big E is currently happy with his current situation and that is all that matters.
