Erick Redbeard, previously known as Erick Rowan, was released by WWE in 2020 due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic. After his departure, he returned to the independent wrestling scene and has made appearances in various promotions, including AEW. Notably, there is now a possibility that he may make a comeback to WWE after four years away.

Erick Redbeard has made a few appearances on AEW television. The first time was during the Brodie Lee tribute show back in December 2020. After that, he appeared on WWE television following Bray Wyatt’s untimely demise last year.

As reported earlier, an indie promotion had announced that Rowan had been pulled from their show due to “new contractual obligations”. According to PWInsider Elite, Rowan was spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past week. It is to be noted that Pittsburgh is where WWE holds its medical testing procedures, which could be the likely reason why he was there in the first place.

”Several independent promotions have announced that Erick Rowan has pulled out of upcoming events due to “contractual obligations.”  Rowan was in Pittsburgh this past week, where WWE talent go for medical testing.”
