Jon Moxley is no stranger to making appearances in NJPW, as he was present during Wrestle Kingdom 18 earlier this year and now he is set for a huge IWGP World Heavyweight Title match at NJPW Windy City Riot. Ahead of the bout, Moxley claimed that he will always be taken for granted, even if he wins the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.

Jon Moxley is set to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship for the first time at NJPW Windy City Riot on April 12th. As Moxley gears up for this highly anticipated bout, New Japan Pro-Wrestling released a video piece on their YouTube channel, providing an in-depth look at his preparation for the match.

The video features Moxley’s personal life, including moments with his wife Renee Paquette, their daughter, and fellow wrestler Bryan Danielson. This behind-the-scenes glimpse offers insight into Moxley’s mindset and approach as he faces Naito in the ring.

Despite the opportunity to compete for the prestigious IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Moxley expressed skepticism about the impact of a potential victory. He believes that even if he wins the title, he will still be perceived as the most overlooked, disrespected, and underappreciated wrestler in history.

‘Shots at the IWGP Championship don’t come around every day. Even if I win, it’s not going to matter. I’ll be the most overlooked, disrespected, forgotten about, taken for granted wrestler in the history of this business. It’s not gonna matter. But it means something to me.”

If Jon Moxley captures the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Windy City Riot, he will make history in several significant ways. Not only will he become the eighth IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, but he will also be the first person to hold the WWE, IWGP, and AEW World Championships. We’ll have to see if that will happen for Moxley in the end.
