WWE WrestleMania 40 Sunday kicked off with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins squaring off in singles action. CM Punk was also seated ringside as the special commentator for the match. Action unfolded right when the bell rang and the Scottish Warrior eventually turned out to be the winner.

However, following his victory, McIntyre mocked CM Punk for being injured and showed off his new World title when the Best in the World attacked him. This eventually helped Damian Priest get successful cash in an title win at the Grandest Stage of them All.

In a recent interview with ESPN, CM Punk addressed McIntyre’s match at WrestleMania 40 and blasted him for being obsessed with himself. Not only that, but the massive star also got himself engaged in the CM Punk story, leaving the possibility of a lot of upsets coming his way.

I wanted to make Drew interesting. I wanted to show him that what’s important isn’t on the internet. What’s important is inside the building. Those people, after his two matches. Yes, he had two. He won one. He lost the more important one.”

“They were chanting ‘CM Punk.’ Drew McIntyre prayed for me to be injured. He prayed for it to happen. He asked for help. He looked above and said, ‘God, please, take CM Punk out so I can main event WrestleMania 40.’ I don’t pray for things to happen. I make them happen. I’m going to keep this up until Drew loses his mind. This is my house. I came back here to prove it. Everybody is worried about who I was, who I am now. You should worry about who I’m becoming.

CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre is destined to take place anytime soon when the former returns from his injury. However, Seth Rollins’ involvement will be perfect to watch out for in the next few weeks. Ringside news will keep you updated on this story.
