The Rock & Roman Reigns Plan to Close The Book on Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40

The Rock and Roman Reigns is one of the most dominant and close-knit generational alliances of all time in the history of WWE and they have one common enemy whom they aim to put down for good measure, The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes has been pursuing Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Title since the last calendar year. He came close to dethroning Reigns at WrestleMania 39, only to have his moment and a storybook ending snatched away.

The Prodigal Son worked his way back to the top of the mountain to earn another crack at The Tribal Chief at this year’s WrestleMania. However, this time the odds are firmly stacked against him as Cody made another powerful foe in Roman’s cousin, The Rock on the road to WrestleMania.

The Final Boss has subjected Cody Rhodes to multiple verbal assaults, dragged his family into the mix, and laid down hellacious beatdowns that left him covered in his own blood in their heated feud, being one of the biggest roadblocks en route to finishing his story.

During their recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Roman Reigns proclaimed that he and The Rock would close the book on his journey in the most embarrassing fashion at WrestleMania 40.

“I think Cody is reading the wrong book at this point. We don’t care about his story. It’s funny because you [The Rock] told me this a long time ago. In the wrestling business, there is no call sheet like ‘He’s number one, he’s number two,’ so everybody on our roster believes they are number one. It’s a shark tank. Everybody is trying to take each other out. This guy has been chasing me for two years now. I’ve beaten him. We’ve crossed this bridge already. This is where we close the book completely on this guy, and we display what the most powerful family in wrestling is all about.”

The Rock and Roman Reigns will face Cody Rhodes and his partner, Seth Rollins on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40. If the Samoan duo wins, then the main event title match between Reigns and Rhodes would be contested under Bloodline Rules. However, if Seth and Cody win, then Rhodes would get a clear battlefield against Roman with no sign of The Bloodline.
