Heading into the biggest WrestleMania of all-time, WWE has announced numerous partnerships. From adding Prime as the first ever ring match sponsor of the company to adding C4 Energy drink as the first energy drink sponsor, the company has been making corporate deals with massive brands very often now.

A few weeks ago, WWE’s partnership with Bloodsport X was announced. Shayna Baszler was announced to head to the independent wrestling promotion for match against Masha Slamovich. Not only that, but seemingly, numerous talents are set to head to the promotion for a match in the future.

Speaking about how the match was made official during an interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Josh Barnett, owner of Bloodsport, revealed that he had a good relationship with WWE. His high hopes from Shayna Baszler made him ask the company if she could be sent over for a match and he had a deal confirmed soon after that.

“Hopes and prayers, they actually did line up for once. I have a relationship with WWE and I have for some years. Shayna being one of my athletes, but I’ve actually trained and worked with a lot of athletes that have had time in WWE like Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Tim Thatcher just to name a few. Just through that communication, now just seemed to be the right opportunity and they were completely amenable to sending her over. I was obviously overjoyed to be able to have my student and to have somebody that’s a WWE talent in my show.”
