As the countdown to WrestleMania 40 kicks off, WWE is sparing no effort to ensure that this edition of the Show of Shows lives up to its illustrious legacy. Scheduled to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 6th and 7th, anticipation has reached unprecedented heights. With preparations in full swing, it appears a major gimmick match isn’t being planned for this year’s WrestleMania.

With WrestleMania 40 on the horizon, WWE has swiftly assembled a star-studded card. Among the confirmed matchups is a highly anticipated clash between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown.

Additionally, other exciting bouts have been confirmed, including WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch, WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY vs. Bayley, Intercontinental Champion Gunther vs. Sami Zayn, and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Balor & Damian Priest vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. TBA vs. TBA in a six-pack ladder match.

In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer indicated that the lineup for both nights of WrestleMania is still undisclosed, and as of now, there are no plans for an Andre the Giant Battle Royal at the event.

Furthermore, unlike previous years, there is no Women’s Tag Team Title Match scheduled. Meltzer speculated that based on recent television programming, WWE might consider adding an eight-man tag team match due to the ongoing faction feuds on SmackDown. We’ll have to see whether the battle royal will be relegated to Friday Night SmackDown next week.

Ringside News has also exclusively reported that the lineups for WrestleMania Saturday and Sunday have already been internally locked in. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether the event will turn out to be a memorable one for both nights.
