Dany Garcia, the former wife of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and co-founder of Seven Bucks Productions, is set to be featured in a documentary airing on ESPN and ESPN Deportes this week.

ESPN announced the premiere of “My Name is Dany Garcia,” a documentary shedding light on the life and career of Garcia, who serves as the Founder, CEO, and Chairwoman of The Garcia Companies and holds co-ownership of the United Football League.

Scheduled to air on March 28th at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes, the film is part of ESPN Deportes’ year-long commemoration of its 20th anniversary. It will later be available on ESPN+ following its linear premiere.

Produced in collaboration with ESPN’s Features Unit, the documentary delves into Garcia’s remarkable journey, showcasing her contributions to business, entertainment, and sports. From her ventures in global enterprises to her advocacy for diversity in business, Garcia’s multifaceted career has made her a pioneering figure. Notably, her acquisition of the XFL in 2020 marked her as the first woman to own a major professional sports league in the United States, and she now holds co-ownership of the UFL following the merger with the USFL.

In addition to the documentary, a special profile piece about Garcia, authored by the documentary’s director and reporter Tory Roy, will be available on ESPN.com, ESPNDeportes.com, and espnW.

“My Name is Dany Garcia” aligns with ESPN Deportes’ broader initiative celebrating Hispanic and Latin American heritage in sports, which commenced during Hispanic Heritage Month in 2023.

The documentary coincides with the kickoff of the 2024 United Football League (UFL) on March 30th, with ESPN and ABC platforms set to air 21 games throughout the season, including one semifinal matchup. These games will also be accessible on ESPN+, with select matches available in Spanish on ESPN Deportes.
