When Goldberg arrived in Vince McMahon’s company, Triple H had already established himself as a prominent figure with significant influence. As one of the biggest heels in the company and a dominant champion, Triple H was determined to maintain his position at the top of the roster. Unsurprisingly, Goldberg wanted to rip Triple H’s face off as well.

Goldberg made his WWE debut back in 2003 in epic fashion as he utterly demolished The Rock and would dominate the competition until his exit from the company back in 2004.

While speaking on Tim Green – Nothing Left Unsaid, Goldberg talked about the genuine heat he had with Triple H before and after he joined WWE. He noted how it all began in WCW.

“The fact that I didn’t get along with Paul Levesque [Triple H], which is Vince’s [McMahon] son-in-law, I think it had everything to do with it when I got there… I think a lot of that between Hunter and myself was real… We had an interaction when I was at WCW leading the charge in New York, at a press event… So I hurt myself, and I know some people that were friends that worked with me were talking to him when he was working at WWE.”

The WWE Hall of Famer further noted how he wanted to rip Triple H’s face off after his comments when they met in real life.

“And, he made a comment while I was at home, and I remember it like it was yesterday, and from that second he said I was tanking it or faking it or something, and I wasn’t there for the demise of WCW. How could I? So from then on, I wanted to rip his face off. So, we had a confrontation prior to me signing with the WWE. Ironically, we were represented by the same agent. So, it made the situation quite uncomfortable once I signed with the WWE.”

Goldberg remains a free agent after his WWE contract expired and it is not known whether he will ever get his retirement match. It remains to be seen what will become of Goldberg in the end, as fans will never forget his real-life heat with Triple H.
