Former WWE Star Reveals Mercedes Mone & Megan Thee Stallion’s Scrapped Plans For SummerSlam

Mercedes Mone has been the talk of the industry ever since she made her monumental debut in AEW at their special edition of Dynamite, titled AEW Big Business, making it clear to take things to the global level for the upstart promotion.

Amidst the conversation of her resurgence back to the wrestling world, former WWE superstar Mojo Rawley made an interesting revelation regarding her and popular celebrity, Megan Thee Stallion.

During his recent appearance on the Power Alphas podcast with Mandy Rose & Tino Sabatelli, the former Hype Bro revealed that WWE had plans to feature Megan Thee Stallion at a past SummerSlam, and she was slated to do something with Mercedes, then known as Sasha Banks.

“We went out there for the Crunchyroll Anime awards. Mercedes Mone is a massive anime fan, so we were trying to find something for her in that world and Crunchyroll is essentially the Netflix of Anime. I had no idea the world out there, the scope of the anime community. We got Mercedes on, she’s going to be doing some exciting work with Crunchyroll. One of the things was to go to their anime awards and be a presenter. Megan Thee Stallion was there, she was sitting at the table next to us.“

“I didn’t realize, but I guess she was going to do something with Mercedes at WWE SummerSlam in years previous, and it just never materialized and fell through for one reason or another. We all know how those situations can go and they get crazy. She was cool. She is tall. I didn’t realize how tall she was. That was the first thing she said. She stood up, ‘Ya’ll didn’t realize how tall ya girl was.’ I was like, ‘Nope, I definitely didn’t.'” 

Of course, that did not materialize and as Rawley mentioned, the duo managed to catch up at the recent Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan, the final stop before Mercedes Mone made her return to the wrestling world.

The CEO of women’s wrestling is all set to appear on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, after already generating some huge business for Tony Khan’s promotion on her first night. As they say, anything can happen in wrestling, maybe the duo of Mercedes and Megan Thee Stallion can appear together on AEW programming now that she has taken charge to lead the company to unprecedented heights.
