Zelina Vega’s stock has been on a continuous rise ever since she returned to WWE back in 2022, and she owes a lot of what shaped her as a person to Anime, especially ‘Dragon Ball Z.’

Last week, the passing of Akira Toriyama was announced at the age of 68. His studio revealed that he had succumbed to an acute subdural hematoma, a form of bleeding near the brain.

Toriyama gained widespread recognition for his creation of the popular manga, ‘Dragon Ball,’ a franchise that has given rise to television series, films, video games, and various other forms of media. The central storyline revolves around Goku’s quest to gather the eponymous Dragon Balls in order to safeguard the Earth.

During a recent WWE live event, Zelina Vega and Naomi paid a heartfelt tribute to Akira Toriyama in the wrestling ring. The duo executed a ‘Fusion’ move inspired by ‘Dragon Ball, a popular series created by Toriyama.

In the show, this unique technique enables two characters to ‘fuse,’ resulting in a combined strength greater than that of the individuals separately. Zelina Vega shared the memorable moment on Twitter for fans to appreciate.

”FUUUUUSION! HA!!! @TheTrinity_Fatu #RIPAkiraToriyama 🙏🏽🙏🏽”

Zelina Vega’s profound affection for the series is unmistakable. At WWE Money in the Bank 2023, she showcased her passion by donning an outfit reminiscent of the series villain, Frieza. Nevertheless, ‘Dragon Ball’ will remain a huge part of pop culture in general and that will never change.
