John Cena Hints at Potential 17th WWE World Title Run

John Cena’s career will always be remembered for all the memorable moments he created and the prestigious accolades he acquired over the span of nearly 15 years in the business.

However, one of the most talked about John Cena accomplishment amongst the WWE Universe is being a 16-time World champion, a record he shares with the legendary star, The Nature Boy Ric Flair.

Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect won the championship on the 16th occasion back in 2017 at the WWE Royal Rumble PLE, defeating AJ Styles in one of the most exciting in-ring performances of his career.

During recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cena was asked about his favorite World title reign among those 16 wins. The Champ candidly stated ‘next one’ hinting at going after another World title before hanging up his boots for good.

“My next one. I have often said that the time is coming for me to hang them up and I’m not lying when I say, but it’s not tomorrow. It’s probably soon but not tomorrow, so you never know.”

While the fans have been waiting to see a top-caliber star notch a 17th World championship and surpass Ric Flair’s record, many of them including Flair himself have expressed their desire for John Cena to be that superstar. So it could interesting to see Cena come back for one more title run before his time in the ring comes to its conclusion.
