John Cena held the position as the face of WWE from 2006 to 2016, playing a pivotal role in the company’s success during both the Ruthless Aggression and the PG era. Throughout this period, Cena worked with numerous top stars. However, there have been allegations that Cena complained and expressed dissatisfaction backstage when paired with talent he did not wish to work with.

While speaking on a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the wrestling veteran stated that if John Cena had reservations about working with a particular star, he would openly express his sentiments. Mantell explained that the writers often planned out matches, but if Cena wasn’t pleased with the arrangement, he would typically make changes once backstage.

While Mantell didn’t specify any individual, he mentioned that if Cena didn’t want to work with someone on TV, he would complain and moan backstage. Mantell clarified that this observation isn’t a criticism of John Cena, acknowledging that Cena was focused on one thing.

Dutch Mantell then added that if The Leader of Cenation disagreed with or didn’t like certain aspects, he would make adjustments, especially with the match finishes suggested by the writers.

“I don’t know anybody specifically, but if he didn’t want to work on TV against whoever, he would complain and moan. He was concerned with one thing, and I don’t blame him. This is not a knock on John.”

“If Cena didn’t want to do it or he didn’t like how (…) See, the writers would come up with the finish, how they wanted it to end. They wouldn’t come up with the exact mode or method they wanted to use (…) If they worked it out before Cena got on the scene, well, he’s gonna change it all. He didn’t like this. He didn’t like that.”

A former WWE Superstar also recently claimed that he has scandalous information about John Cena that could jeopardize his Hollywood career. Nevertheless, John Cena will forever be hailed as one of the all-time greats in WWE and that is unlikely to ever change.
