Bayley secured victory in last month’s Royal Rumble, earning a championship opportunity at WrestleMania 40. Despite choosing Iyo Sky as her opponent, she wasn’t present at the kickoff press event and received limited attention afterwards. An ex-WWE star now believes Bayley is being overlooked due to Cody Rhodes’ story.

CM Punk’s entry at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Event caused chaos. The Rock turned heel, leading to Cody Rhodes facing Roman Reigns in the main event. Becky Lynch hinted at a WrestleMania match with Rhea Ripley. Bayley, confirmed for WrestleMania 40, was notably absent. This led to CM Punk demanding respect for her after the snub.

While speaking on The Black Rasslin’ Podcast, Shelton Benjamin highlighted that Bayley was being overshadowed amid The Rock’s return and the focus on Cody Rhodes’ storyline.

Shelton Benjamin noted that even CM Punk had called attention to it, expressing the belief that Bayley deserves more recognition.

“You need to be talking about Bayley a whole lot more. Like don’t get me wrong, I get it everyone’s hot on The Rock and Cody finishing the story but at the same time, I even saw CM Punk say it. Bayley won the Royal Rumble and all anyone is talking about is Cody’s story. Sorry. Give Bayley her flowers. She’s one of the most underrated girls on the roster. I feel like she’s underrated and underappreciated by the company but not by the talent. I think we recognize what she is and Bayley should be world champion come April.”

Izzy also teased being in Bayley’s corner for WrestleMania 40. We will have to wait and see how Bayley and Iyo Sky’s feud will be booked in the coming weeks, as Damage CTRL is effectively over, especially with Dakota Kai coming to Bayley’s aid.
