WWE Staff Sanctions Fans After Explicit Carmelo Hayes Chants on 2/6 NXT

Carmelo Hayes’ friendship with Trick WIlliams was one of the best things about NXT but he ultimately betrayed him at NXT Vengeance Day last week. This led to a ton of cussing towards Hayes on NXT this week and WWE staff had to step in to curb it all.

PWInsider reported shift in the crowd’s reaction to Carmelo Hayes during the February 6 NXT show. Initially chanting ‘F**k you Melo!’ during the opening segment, the audience was later asked to refrain from swearing.

The crowd was advised not to use ‘F-bombs,’ and they complied during Carmelo Hayes’ later appearance when revealing the reason for attacking Trick Williams.

Despite refraining from explicit language, the audience continued expressing strong displeasure at Melo for betraying his former tag partner and best friend, Trick Williams.

Carmelo Hayes would then attack Ilja Dragunov after the latter’s brutal match against Dijak on this week’s episode of NXT, making it clear he wants to reignite his feud with Dragunov and claim the NXT Championship again.

We will have to wait and see how WWE will be booking Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov’s feud in the coming weeks, as a heel Hayes is already getting tons of heat now.
