WWE and UFC’s deal was finalized just last year, as the companies were featured in front of The New York Stock Exchange. While a lot of change has happened since then, it appears Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro personally told Vince McMahon to resign after his trafficking lawsuit.

Vince McMahon is currently accused of sexual trafficking and misconduct by ex-WWE employee Janel Grant. She alleges McMahon distributed explicit content of her without consent, involving other WWE personnel, undisclosed executives, and wrestling stars in her lawsuit.

After the sexual trafficking lawsuit, Vince McMahon formally stepped down from WWE and TKO Holdings. McMahon pledged to contest the allegations, asserting that they were entirely without merit.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel and TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro contacted Vince McMahon, advising him that resigning would be in the best interest of the company.

TKO had been aware of Vince McMahon’s misdeeds since the merger last year. A Federal inquiry has been launched into Vince McMahon’s involvement in the sexual trafficking lawsuit as well. It remains to be seen whether more lawsuits will turn up soon.
