Trick Williams Compares WWE NXT Vengeance Day Title Match to Shrek’s Journey to Fiona

Trick Williams has been on the run of his life in recent months. He is arguably one of the most popular stars on the roster.

Trick’s meteoric rise was sudden and it catapulted him to his first title win. Since then, he has not looked back. Williams went on to win the Iron Survivor Challenge and earn himself a title match against Ilja Dragunov.

Their original match had to be postponed due to Dragunov’s injury, but the Mad Dragon has offered Trick the chance to face him at NXT Vengeance. However, Trick and Carmelo Hayes will also participate in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic against Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin. Needless to say, Trick has an uphill battle ahead of him.

During an interview with Comicbook.com, Trick Williams compared his NXT Championship match to Shrek’s journey to Fiona. He says he has to slay the Mad Dragon to get his prize.

“Oh man. I think Shrek may be the perfect example for this. For Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona, he had to slay the dragon. So as I walk into Vengeance Day, Trick Williams needs to slay the Mad Dragon to receive his prize, which would be the NXT Championship.”

Trick has his hands full at NXT Vengeance Day. With the deck stacked against him, it will be interesting to see if he can overcome all odds and finally realize his dream.
