The New Day is regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of WWE, and it’s not really hard to see why. However, it appears Kofi Kingston really wants to see The New Day face off against their rivals, The Young Bucks.

In case you didn’t know, The New Day have a strong rivalry with The Elite, more specifically Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. This was more apparent in 2018, as Xavier Woods and Kenny Omega faced each other in Street Fighter V during that year’s E3.

For quite a while now, The New Day have made it clear they really want a match with The Elite. While speaking during an interview ahead of the Royal Rumble, Kofi Kingston was asked about potential matches in the future.

Kingston made it abundantly clear that he wants The New Day to square off against The Young Bucks, doubling down on it even. Kingston also mentioned how Mickie James came from TNA last year at the Rumble for good measure.

‘I mean I’m gonna give a copout answer here. There’s just so many possibilities, you know we’ve always wanted to have matches with The Young Bucks. Yeah, we’ve said that before. We say it all the day. They opened the door, they let Mickie James come here from TNA last year, not me. I can mention and talk about the kicking the forbidden door open, you didn’t shut it. So Imma come and peek through and see.”

We will have to wait and see whether The New Day and The Elite ever square off against each other inside the squared circle. With WWE having no intention of working with AEW, the dream match won’t happen anytime soon.
