There are quite a few talented pro wrestlers in AEW right now who continue to compete on a weekly basis. Even then, AEW is always looking to sign more talent, especially luchadors. Now it appears AEW has signed a deal with a major free agent.

AEW has worked with Mexican promotions such as CMLL and AAA quite extensively in the past and used stars such as El Hijo del Vikingo and other prominent luchadors over the past couple of years.

This included Black Taurus, who has competed on AEW television as well as on ROH over the past couple of months. Coincidentally, these matches were against El Hijo del Vikingo.

According to Luchablog, which is a reliable source for all things related to Mexican wrestling, it was reported that Black Taurus has secured a deal with AEW/ROH, but AAA, which owns the “Taurus” gimmick, has raised objections to his appearances on ROH and AEW shows.

While AAA had previously not objected to the use of “Black Taurus” on indie shows or merchandise, the situation changed when he appeared on televised events. Despite the individual behind the mask being fine, the character “Black Taurus” is no longer in use.

This comes after Taurus announced last week that he left AAA and is officially a free agent. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see how AEW will alter Black Taurus’ character in order to avoid any disputes with AAA in the future.
