CM Punk References Infamous Gunther Tweet After 1/15 WWE RAW Return

WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther took time off from WWE television after the December 18th episode of Monday Night RAW. He finally returned on RAW this week and now CM Punk referenced an infamous tweet concerning Gunther after his return.

Gunther and Jinny just celebrated the birth of their first son as couple, which is why he took time off i. the first place. He ended his hiatus on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, much to the delight of fans.

Gunther delivered a heel promo on fellow WWE Superstars, criticizing their discussions about the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. He reminded fans that he was the first participant in last year’s Royal Rumble and came close to winning. The Ring General would then declare himself to be part of the Royal Rumble match.

CM Punk took to his Instagram story and reacted to the news of Gunther competing in the Men’s Royal Rumble by expressing sympathy for the other 28 competitors, referencing a tweet by Keith Lee when Gunther had just changed his name from Walter. Punk then told Gunther that he would be seeing him in the Royal Rumble.

“Man…if what I’m hearing is real…poor 28 other guys.

See you in the Rumble, @gunther_WWE”

The Royal Rumble already has the likes of CM Punk and Cody Rhodes in it, so Gunther’s inclusion will be a much-needed addition. We’ll have to see whether Gunther will end up chopping Punk in the Royal Rumble match.
