AEW is known for their surprises, and they’ve brought in a lot of big names that few fans saw coming. One notable name is backstage at Collision this week, adding to the fact that you never know who will show up around AEW next.

Chase Owens has quite a career for himself in NJPW, but he hasn’t ventured to AEW. He still has plenty of connections with wrestlers on that roster, and he wanted to re-connect with some of them today.

BodySlam.net reports that Chase Owens is actually backstage at AEW Collision in San Antonio. This is quite a surprise, but it doesn’t seem that this will translate into any on-screen action.

Sources have confirmed to me that NJPW Star and Bullet Club member “The Crown Jewel” Chase Owens is backstage at tonight’s AEW tapings.

It was also noted that Chase Owens currently lives in San Antonio, so he is visiting friends on the AEW roster. He’s not expected to participate in any in-ring action at this time.

Chase Owens is currently scheduled to return to Japan at the first of the year. He is set to appear at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 18 and New Year’s Dash shows, so NJPW is keeping him busy.
