Zelina Vega’s stock has been on a continuous rise ever since she returned to WWE last year. She has become one of the most popular babyfaces in the WWE Women’s division and it appears Vega worked through recent SmackDown tapings while being ill.

Zelina Vega’s career got a major shot in the arm after joining Legado Del Fantasma last year. She was then part of the newly re-introduced Latino World Order, and fans had been firmly behind Vega in a big way.

Things did change after Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio and left the group, with Zelina Vega remaining a part of the LWO. The December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown was taped on December 15 and Zelina Vega wasn’t feeling well for either show.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that Zelina Vega was sick for two matches she had to tape but fought through the illness and worked the matches.

”Vega was ill coming into the 12/15 Smackdown tapings but worked two matches on the show

Vega partnered up with Mia Yim on the December 15 episode of SmackDown, facing Damage CTRL’s Asuka and Kairi Sane. She then teamed up with Michin again for the pre-taped December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, along with Shotzi and Bianca Belair to take on Damage CTRL. Vega even got props for his determination in working the matches. We hope Vega will make a full recovery from her illness as soon as possible.
