AEW has their eye on many properties, but it appears that they have given up hope on locking down one name.

AEW previously submitted an application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term “East West Express” on November 27th, 2023, sparking discussions and speculation. Notably, this was the popular tag team name of Nick Wayne and Jordan Oliver on the independent scene.

According to Bodyslam.net, AEW decided to abandon the application for “East West Express” on December 15th, 2023, as reflected on the USPTO website. Further updates on AEW’s trademark plans or any developments related to the East West Express will be provided if available.

It is interesting that AEW stopped trying to lock his name down. It could mean that they no longer plan on using the name on television. If anything, it may have come down to another issue.
