AEW made its debut back in 2019 and in the years since then, it has seen a lot of changes and growth in general. That said, they are nowhere close to WWE and now Tony Khan has stated that he will continue to fight against WWE’s monopoly.

AEW was made with one goal in mind – to be a proper alternative to the WWE product. In many ways, they have succeeded, but the company has also fallen into the same tropes that WWE has been criticized for as well.

It’s not even a question that WWE is the biggest professional wrestling company in the world and no company is anywhere near them right now and it is unlikely any promotion ever will, counting AEW.

While speaking on the post-ROH Final Battle media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan made it very clear that he will continue to fight against WWE’s monopoly no matter what.

It’s the most rewarding thing, that’s why you can’t get away from it for too long. That’s why we come back to it, we’re addicted. It’s worth the fight, and I love the fight. I’m never gonna stop fighting. No matter what happens, no matter how things change. It’s the fight Jim Crockett fought, Verne Gagne, Ted Turner and so many other people that tried. God bless them all, I’m doing it for all of you.

We will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to improve their product in the coming months. After all, fans just want AEW to get better so that they can compete with WWE properly someday.

What’s your view on what Tony Khan said? Do you feel AEW will ever have a chance against WWE? Let us know in the comments!
